Fire Victims Charity Drive a Success

by Steve
10/27/2007 02:26:00 PM

The Fire Victims Charity Drive that we announced earlier this week was a big success according to Jackie Dunagan, the gal who helped organize it.

She sent us the following message...
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING OUR DRIVE ON YOUR WEBSITE!!!! IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND I KNOW THAT PEOPLE ARE USING THE LOCAL WEBSITES FOR INFO. AT LEAST. I KEPT ASKING HOW DID THEY KNOW WE'D BE OUT THERE AND THEY WOULD TELL ME WHAT WEBSITES THEY SAW IT ON. THAT IS EXCITING. I WAS HOPING THAT YOU WOULDNT MIND POSTING THE RESULTS? IF SO,

The Menifee Predators would like to thank everyone that was able to come out and help with the Fire Relief Drive ... it was a huge success!

Once all was said and done we filled up 20 pallets (3 boxes high) and donated a little over $700 in cash.

The Predators Thank everyone that donated clothes, food, toys and hygiene items!

For only two days notice and a two hour effort we really stepped up as a league and community to support our families and neighbors!

In particular we would like to make sure the Knott Family know the support their whole family provided with working at Ralphs, to providing use of their two trucks and trailers was huge in making this happen. We would not have been able to get everything delivered in the middle of the night without them...

Thank you to everyone who assisted, contributed, and supported us!
It was an amazing experience and I am personally proud now to live in MENIFEE.

thanks again!
Jackie Dunagan
Thanks to everyone who donated and especially to Jackie and the rest of the Predators team for making it happen.

Sun City Biker Rally

by Steve
6/04/2007 09:55:00 PM

This Saturday, June 9, Hospice of the Valleys in Sun City will be host to a biker rally.

The hospice care facility is hosting its 1st annual, "Ride to the End" biker rally, hoping that folks with their Harley Davidson motorcycles will come by and help raise badly needed money.

Biker rallies and events have become a very popular way to raise money for charities, and bikers are well known for supporting them. At this point, bikers have become probably the biggest supporters of charities, donating probably a billion dollars nationwide to causes benefiting veterans, children, elderly, disabled, impoverished, and the abused.

Entry into the 1st annual "Ride to the End" costs $25.00 per person. Registration includes a poker run, lunch, a t-shirt, and a commemorative pin.

The event starts at 10:00am, at 28127 Bradley Road.

Participate in Temecula's 15th Annual Toys for Tots!

by Steve
12/01/2005 11:52:00 AM

Toys for TotsWould you like to take your family or special someone out to a movie theater for a free movie?

On Wednesday, December 14th, starting at 4:30pm, come over to Temeku Cinemas and drop off a toy at the 15th Annual Temecula Toys for Tots. Each person who donates a toy gets to watch a free movie, get a free hot dog, drink, popcorn, and sit on Santa's lap for a free photo-op.

Movies to choose from are "Miracle on 34th Street" or "Home Alone", both starting at 6:00pm.

Toys for Tots is a nationwide effort operated by the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve. A member of the community volunteers to coordinate an area toy drive, in which the toys are distributed to needy kids in the local area. This year, Lisa Forss, a Temecula based Realtor with Coldwell Banker, is driving the effort.

Other Ways to Participate

Lisa Forss is looking for folks willing to help out by setting up a toy collection box in their office, clubhouse, store, restaurant, or anywhere people can conveniently donate a toy.

Contact Lisa at (951) 302-1492 or at (951) 303-3000.

Goal

Last year, the effort collected 5,000 toys for local area kids. This year, they would like to extend that to 6,000 toys in light of the additional families our area welcomed in from towns affected by Hurricane Katrina.

See the official flyer.
