I mean, really, the flooding is a problem how many days out of the year? EVERY SINGLE DAY the traffic on Newport is HORRENDOUS! The bridge at Scott needs to be widened and they need to build another bridge over the 215 at Holland before we do anything else. This is ridiculous. I don't mind new development in my city, as long as it is well planned and thought out, for goodness sakes. I find myself driving to Winco, and Murrieta, and Temecula to shop rather than crossing the dang freeway.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-91562772400047644622011-01-25T20:08:39.300-08:002011-01-25T20:08:39.300-08:00So.......lets build the same piece of crap culvert...So.......lets build the same piece of crap culvert that floods on Murrieta Rd on Bradley. I am not an engineer or a rocket scientist, but this seems really short sighted to use that much of our money for NO BETTER RESULTS. We are in West Menifee, and struggle through traffic to the 215 to reach McCall and drive around the mess. WE NEED BETTER RESULTS from our tax dollars in road "improvements".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-77829092347035606182011-01-20T20:45:01.036-08:002011-01-20T20:45:01.036-08:00"...is still a big improvement." Uh, no..."...is still a big improvement." Uh, no it's not. Why just fix a problem only half way? We all know that Murrieta Road floods just as bad as Bradley Road. Why? Because the road is not elevated. Some educated idiot (engineer) will come on here and say how if you elevate the road, it will dam up the water behind it towards the 215. What really needs to be done is build a BOX CULVERT, which is what it is called, about 3 or 4 feet high and elevate the road so that it is at the same elevation as the rest of Bradley Road, on both sides of Salt Creek. There is already a box culvert on McCall Road at the golf course east of Murrieta road. I do believe it is also used as a golf cart tunnel. At some point, both Bradley and Murrieta roads will need to be raised and have box culverts built beneath them. Might as well do it right the first time.Brian Van Diestnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-63367244681847074112011-01-20T20:36:24.485-08:002011-01-20T20:36:24.485-08:00Anonymous @ 8:31PM, I think what North County SD i...Anonymous @ 8:31PM, I think what North County SD is doing right is that those cities, along with the County before their incorporation, have a lot more money on their hands.Steve Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07254867681706917705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-34832456340241688452011-01-20T20:31:00.264-08:002011-01-20T20:31:00.264-08:00We should consider looking at North County San Die...We should consider looking at North County San Diego. They have a vast of rural/sub-urban areas which have complete road improvements that are very effective and efficient! Apparently they are doing something right!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-56295563517041325712011-01-20T17:54:56.133-08:002011-01-20T17:54:56.133-08:00So it doesn't make sense to me either, in that...So it doesn't make sense to me either, in that the 215 is always a viable alternative for residents on that end of the city. It is always open, as well as Antelope Road into the Barrington Heights community, and then on down onto McCall. Not to mention Lindenberger, to reach Heritage Lake.
The real problem area to cross would be Murrieta Road and I am wondering if that was addressed. Residents on the west side of town have to struggle through the traffic on Newport from Bradley all the way to the 215, just to get to a passable route. Not a good use of $300,000.Sash Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11030587181417666338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-68535327435598650352011-01-20T10:33:02.640-08:002011-01-20T10:33:02.640-08:00That will be money well spent, NOT!!!
Look at Murr...That will be money well spent, NOT!!!
Look at Murrieta it floods just as bad as Bradley, and the old Newport too. Why so worried about Bradley end of Salt Creek is it because more 'newer' Menifee residents on the east of 215 have more money or want it more, not the older residents that have been fighting these problems longer than most the newer residents have even lived around here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-60086310856936828142011-01-20T09:40:37.292-08:002011-01-20T09:40:37.292-08:00I agree with Anonymous (8:15 am)We already know Mu...I agree with Anonymous (8:15 am)We already know Murrieta improvement doesn't work (I tried taking that road during the storm)My suggestion would be for the same amount of money, buy bigger flood pipes, or build cement bridges across the low points of these two roads. I believe you can buy already prefabricated parts of those bridges. Why would you put in a culvert that is proven inefficient? Who signed off on this $300,000 from the City?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-65767321042248428082011-01-20T09:37:46.610-08:002011-01-20T09:37:46.610-08:00Since this is obviously not needed right here righ...Since this is obviously not needed right here right now, and like the above comment said, ineffective, why don't we spend money where it's needed!?! Like ummm coordinating the traffic lights on Newport/Antelope and Newport/Haun? HELLLOOO!!!!???? SO many accidents and a couple of lives lost, wouldn't this be Menifee's top priority? If we're going to continue to grow and add more shops, etc. we need to take care of the traffic problem FIRST.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5181366.post-23348515061593924282011-01-20T08:15:37.925-08:002011-01-20T08:15:37.925-08:00So the City will spend $300,000 and nothing will c...So the City will spend $300,000 and nothing will change?
