A Yucaipa man was taken into custody after a police chase from north Menifee into the Countryside Marketplace in the center of town today, police said.

Troy Christiansen, 49, was being chased by police in connection with a burglary at an am/pm market on McCall Boulevard about 2:45 p.m., according to a Menifee Police Department report. The suspect, driving a white Crown Victoria, failed to yield to officers and led them on a short chase that ended up in the Marketplace.

The suspect drove behind Lowe’s and Target and then headed toward the Breakfast Club restaurant, where he drove up over a curb and fled. He was caught a short distance away. No injuries occurred.

Christiansen was arrested for burglary, evading police, and for a felony theft warrant.
