Menifee’s park rangers and community volunteers set up displays and provided instruction about conservation of natural resources Friday night at the city’s first Earth Day celebration at Central Park.

Park rangers Brandon Samson and Amanda Ingram showed children examples of local vegetation and how to identify animal footprints. LLL Reptile had a popular booth with a bearded dragon and blue-tongue skink – a big lizard, for those who don’t know -- and children had the opportunity to hold and pet the critters. Entries in a youth art contest were on display, and several other booths gave residents additional resources.

To hear more about the event from park ranger Brandon Samson, listen to Doug Spoon's podcast here.
