Youth Leaders of Menifee and their leader, Michael Rinehart of the City of Menifee Community Services Department.

Members of the Youth Leaders of Menifee service organization appeared at Wednesday’s City Council meeting to introduce themselves and announce upcoming events on their calendar.

The Youth Leaders meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Lazy Creek Recreation Center. According to the City of Menifee website, “The purpose of the Youth Leaders of Menifee is to promote public service and community involvement, with, for and by youth. Teens will have the opportunity to be the voice of the youth in the community by creating and implementing programs and events for youth and teens.

“Youth Leaders of Menifee creates a positive environment for teens to develop leadership skills, enhance communication, and build self-esteem and confidence. Through this program teens will also receive job readiness training and have the opportunity to volunteer at City of Menifee programs and events.”

Members must be a high school student attending school in Menifee.

In addition to volunteering for park clean-ups and serving meals to seniors, Youth Leaders are scheduled to participate in events such as Family Fitness Fun Day Nov. 20 and the Christmas Tree Lighting event Dec. 4.

Teen Activities Lead – Alexander Casillas (Liberty High School)
Green Team Lead - Alessandra Pimentel (Paloma Valley High School)
Green Team Lead - Jose Del Angel (Heritage High School)
Volunteer Coordinator – Brenda Alarcon (Paloma Valley High School)
