Menifee man dies in single-vehicle accident in Riverside

A Menifee man has been identified by the Coroner's Office as the victim in a fatal traffic accident Thursday in Riverside.

Ricardo Aguilar Jr., 19, was driving a compact vehicle that crashed into a tree near San Sevaine Way and Wabash Drive about 9:40 p.m., according to a Sheriff's Department news release. When first responders arrived at the scene of the single-vehicle accident, Aguilar was located inside the vehicle with major injuries. The sole occupant of the car, Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor, according to the news release. San Sevaine Way and Wabash Drive were closed during the investigation.
