The City of Menifee today announced that it is once again closing City Hall to the public and transitioning back to virtual City Hall services because of the recent spike in coronavirus cases. This announcement comes on a day the Riverside County Health Department reported 41 new cases of COVID-19 in Menifee since Thursday -- by far the biggest one-day increase yet. Riverside County also set a one-day record with 1,431 new reported cases of COVID-19 today.

Here is the news release from the City of Menifee:

MENIFEE, CA – In response to the growing number of local coronavirus cases and Menifee’s continued efforts to provide high levels of customer service, the City has rolled out a new marketing campaign to encourage residents, business owners, visitors and stakeholders to “Skip the Line, and Go Online.”

The new marketing campaign encourages customers an enhanced way to save time and quickly access virtual City Hall services and the Zero Stop Shop permit center, from the ease of their home or office. Details can be found here.

Starting on Monday, July 13, City Hall will transition back to virtual city hall services (offering enhanced online services-virtual), over-the-phone, electronic or by mail, and will be closed to the public due to the high rise in COVID-19 cases. In a continued effort to provide services that residents, business owners and visitors have come to expect in Menifee, in-person appointments can still be made starting Wednesday, July 15, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., by visiting the City’s website, or by calling City Hall at 951-672-6777.

Public access to the city hall facility will be re-evaluated incrementally in relation to the pandemic. The Menifee Police Department offices will remain open to the public.

The City would like to remind its residents and customers, to visit the city’s VIRTUAL CITY HALL webpage, which includes virtual permit activities, and information on project processes for all stages of development, as well as information on Community Services virtual programming during the COVID-19 crisis. Access to that site can be found here.

Menifee City Manager Armando Villa, states, “The City understands the difficult times we are all living through, and we are proud of City staff and leadership that is working both the crisis and behind the scenes to continue to provide high levels of customer service to our residents and business owners, while ensuring that our city staff remains safe and healthy during the pandemic in order to provide the services our residents have come to expect and enjoy in our growing community.”
