Sophomore Mya Pierfax led all scorers with 30 points as the Paloma Valley High School girls basketball team beat Heritage 61-31 Thursday night in a Sunbelt League game.

Pierfax played just the first three quarters for the Wildcats, who led 37-10 at halftime. Paloma Valley is in first place with an 11-1 record and is 16-9 overall. If the Wildcats maintain their league lead through the last two games next week, it will be only the second girls basketball league championship in school history.

Paloma Valley plays at Elsinore Jan. 28 before closing out the regular season Jan 30 with a home game against Arlington.
