The Sheriff's Department this week arrested one suspect and is searching for a second suspect in connection with the home invasion murder of a Menifee man last February.

Rodolfo Garcia, 35, of Perris was arrested Oct. 29 after members of the Sheriff's Department SWAT team served a "high risk" search warrant in the 21600 block of Club Drive in that city, according to a news release. Garcia was arrested without incident and was booked on murder charges related to the Feb. 5 murder of Silvano Esteves, 43. Esteves was found inside his residence in the 27700 block of Monroe Avenue in the Romoland Community in Menifee.

Investigators located a large amount of marijuana on the property and believe the suspects targeted the victim as a result.

Investigators developed information that led to the identification of Garcia and Jesus "Chuy" Guzman, 34, of Littlerock as suspects in the case. A search of Guzman's property by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies on Oct. 11 located human remains. Guzman is a person of interest regarding the human remains, police said.

Guzman remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, according to the news release. Sheriff's departments from both Riverside and Los Angeles counties are working together in trying to locate him.

Guzman is described as a Hispanic male, age 34, 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone seeing this suspect is asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the case should call Investigator Joshua Manjarrez of the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3530 or Investigator Martin Alfaro at 760-393-3528.
