A Menifee man was arrested for burglary Monday after a Wildomar resident entered her home to find the suspect preparing to carry items out of the residence, police said.

Anthony Lamar Campbell, 25, of the Sun City community in Menifee was taken into custody as he tried to run away from the neighborhood, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. The incident began about 4 p.m. when a resident discovered the suspect in her home in the 35000 block of Frederick Street. The resident ran outside and called 911, giving a brief description of the suspect.

Arriving officers set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and soon took the suspect into custody. He was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on charges including burglary and providing false ID to an officer. Bail was set at $35,000 and he has a March 1 court date, according to jail records.
