Carnes Christmas House opens tonight in Menifee

The Carnes Christmas House, a tradition in Menifee for 20 years, will open to the public tonight with its colorful exterior lighting and displays and festive indoor decorations.

Every year, Christopher and Mary Carnes go all out to decorate their home at 30035 Calle Pompei, just south of Newport Road. Guests come from throughout the area to view the outside displays, gather outside the fire ring and chat with Santa, and walk inside to view the many miniature Victorian villages and other holiday displays.

Every year has a slightly different look and theme, so visitors will be in for a surprise, no matter how many times they have visited in the past. Donations of canned goods are accepted to be given to charity and holiday goodies are served.

The Carnes Christmas House will be open every night until the end of the year.
