A Hemet man pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of false imprisonment for a confrontation with a female student in a restroom at Mt. San Jacinto College Oct. 3, authorities said.
Tyrell Nathaniel Brown, 29, was sentenced to one year in county jail and three years probation, said John Hall of the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.
According to a Sheriff's Department news release, Brown entered the restroom about 9 a.m., encountered a student and attempted to prevent her from leaving the bathroom stall. He then told her to put on clothing he had with him.
The victim refused to comply and defended herself from the suspect, eventually fleeing from the restroom without injury. Brown was arrested at his residence Oct. 4 and was booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
