Menifee Man Among Two Arrested Following Traffic Stop

A Murrieta man was arrested on multiple charges and a Menifee man was arrested for a parole violation following a traffic stop in Murrieta Sunday night, authorities said.

A Murrieta Police officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle near Interstate 15 and California Oaks Road about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release issued today. A routine records check showed that Ryan Mayfield, 33, of Murrieta was on probation for narcotics related charges and other offenses. A probation check of his residence revealed a significant amount of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia.

Andrew Romero, 23, of Menifee was found to be a "parolee at large" who was wanted for a felony parole violation.

Both men were booked into the Southwest Detention Center. Mayfield's charges included possession of a controlled substance for sales, committing a felony while out on felony bail, and possession of a concealed dirk or dagger.
