The sun was out and the players were having fun last year on Opening Day. This year's event is Saturday.


Menifee Valley Little League will hold Opening Ceremonies this Saturday, March 7 at Wheatfield Park.

The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a parade of teams. In addition to the first games of the season, there will be a carnival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with vendor booths. Vendors are asked to arrive by 7:30 a.m. for set-up.

Thunder, the mascot for the Lake Elsinore Storm, will be in attendance. Scarlet Draper of Paloma Valley High School will sing the national anthem. Mayor Scott Mann will throw out the first pitch.
