Play ball!

More than 500 young players, cheered on by volunteer coaches and enthusiastic family members, took part today in Opening Day for Menifee Valley Little League.

The festivities began at 9 a.m. with a parade of teams. MVLL President John Dreher (right) welcomed players and fans to the event and introduced board members. Lake Elsinore team mascot Thunder was on hand as usual to mingle with the players and perform various acrobatics.

Paloma Valley High School student Scarlett Draper sang the national anthem and Menifee Mayor Scott Mann threw out the first pitch (below). Then it was time for everyone to enjoy the games and vendor booths throughout the day.
