Riverside County firefighters responded to two house fires in Menifee on Friday. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters needed two hours to contain a fire that caused an estimated $80,000 worth of damage to a two-story home in the 31100 block of Little Camille Way. The fire was first reported at 8:59 p.m. and responding units reported a fire in the garage. No injuries were reported.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, cause of the fire was improperly discarded smoking material. Fire officials estimate that $160,000 worth of property was saved by the firefighting efforts.

Earlier in the day Friday, eight people were displaced by a kitchen fire at a home in the 27200 block of Granada Way. The fire was reported at 1:25 p.m. and quickly contained.

Fire officials requested assistance from the Red Cross for three adults and five minors displaced by the fire, but no injuries were reported.
