A man was mugged by two suspects in the area of Winchester and Nicolas roads, in the Temecula area.

On Dec. 5, at approximately 1:13 a.m., the two suspects approached the victim and one of them had a revealed a gun. The suspect with the gun demanded the victim's wallet and cellphone and the second suspect struck the victim in the face, then took the victim's wallet, cellphone, and car keys. The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle, according to the police report.

Temecula Police responded to the scene of the crime and broadcast the information of the mugging to surrounding agencies. Approximately 45 minutes later, an officer from the Hemet Police Department spotted a vehicle that matched the description.

The vehicle was pulled over and a search of the vehicle revealed a replica firearm similar to the one used in the robbery, and several items belonging to the victim.

Hemet officers then arrested the suspects, Anthony Lamar (pictured left), a 20-year-old resident of Hemet, and David Warren (pictured right), a 20-year-old resident of San Jacinto. The suspects were booked into the Southwest Detention Center for robbery.
