Traffic Accident Topples Over Power Pole, Sets off Alarms

A 33-year old man was arrested by Lake Elsinore Police for investigation into possible DUI charges, after his vehicle collided into a power pole.

On Nov. 11, at 3:32 a.m., police responded to reports of an accident along Railroad Canyon Road. Police arrested Benjamin Duran of Hemet, on the scene when they found his vehicle smashed into a power pole. Alcohol was believed to have been involved.

The power pole he hit, fell over and caused damage to three other vehicles. The cables running to the power pole were damaged as well, setting off alarms at several local businesses and banks. All alarms were investigated and determined to be accidental due to the damage to the power cables according to the police report.

No one was injured on the scene, but Railroad Canyon Road, west of Church was closed to traffic, while Southern California Edison conducted repairs. The road remained closed until 5:44 a.m.
