The Menifee Community Services Department completed improvement projects on five city-owned parks.

Restroom upgrades at Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park, E.L. Peterson Park, and La Ladera Park included changes to the entrances, to help prevent against vandalism and automatic locking systems to eliminate the need for someone to lock and unlock restrooms in person. Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park also had hand dryers installed into the restrooms.

For pet owners, Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park, E.L. Peterson Park, and Lyle Marsh Park, installed pet waste dispensers that provide free waste bags to help keep the parks clean of pet waste.

"By improving the quality of park facilities, we are encouraging residents to use the parks more often, and to take pride in our community," Community Services Director Robert Lennox said.

Further improvements are expected to be made through fall on the city-owned parks.
