Animal’s Name: Contessa (Tessa)

Breed: Doberman Pinscher Mix

Age: 15 months

Color: Black/brown short smooth coat

Contessa's Story: Contessa (Tessa) is a beautiful young Doberman Pinscher Mix who weighs about 65 pounds. She has been spayed, vaccinated and dewormed. She is microchipped, housetrained, obedience trained and crate trained. Tessa is a highly active, intelligent and sensitive dog who responds well to love and praise. She's a natural guard dog, but she's also very sweet and loving with her family. She gets along well with other dogs and love to play with other large dogs. (She plays too rough with small dogs). She's not OK with cats. She enjoys playing fetch, water and the wading pool. Dobermans (Dobies) need human interaction and leadership; they like to be with their people and are not suited to kennel or backyard life. Therefore, Tessa is looking for a home where she will be part of an active family who has time to spend with her, exercise her, walk, run, hike, take her to the beach, dog park, and interact with all the time. Stimulation and a lot of daily exercise are important in order to produce a happy, stable-minded Dobie. Tessa is looking for an active owner or family who has solid experience with this breed or type of dog and who has natural authority/leadership skills with the dog. Free consultation with dog trainer/behaviorist for Tessa's new owner.
