Menifee's first microbrewery is scheduled to open its doors early next year, according to a news release from the City of Menifee.

The Mason Jar Brewing Company will be located at 29683 New Hub Drive, in a commercial center adjacent to the U.S. Post Office. Co-owners of the company are Robert Carter and Grace Santiago, Menifee residents who started making beer at home for fun. Eventually, they entered their beers into local and regional homebrew competitions and began winning medals. In June, their Razz-Ma-Tazz fruit stout won the gold medal in a national homebrew competition.

"We are Menifee residents and our family is involved in the community," Santiago said in the news release. "It was very important for us to locate our tasting room and brewery in Menifee. We love it here. We hope to help put Menifee on the map, and while Menifee is great now, we look forward to seeing how it continues to improve in the next three to five years."

The Mason Jar Brewing Company will be located in an existing warehouse and office shell space. After making some tenant improvements, the owners expect to open for tastings and tours in February or March, 2015.
