Perris City Councilman Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Use

Perris city councilman Julio Rodriguez was arrested June 24 on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said today.

Deputies from the Perris Police Department responded to a reported theft at a hotel near the 500 block of Redlands Boulevard in Perris about 7:30 a.m. The victim, Rodriguez, displayed symptoms consistent with being under the influence of drugs. During a subsequent search of Rodriguez' hotel room, drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of methamphetamine was located.

Rodriguez, 28, was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The bail in this case is set at $5,000.
