Ashley, Calvert Hold Big Leads in Local Voting Results

Election results as of 10:50 p.m.:

Incumbent Marion Ashley held a large lead over Mark Orozco in the race for Riverside County Supervisor in District 5 Tuesday night, while Ken Calvert held a commanding lead in the race for U.S. Representative in the 42nd District.

Ashley had received 16,671 votes for 66.98 percent of the vote with 73 percent of the precincts reporting. Orozco had received 8,218 votes, or 33.02 percent of the vote.

With 28 percent of the precincts reporting, Republican Calvert had received 22,168 votes for 66.40 percent of the votes. His nearest challenger was Democrat Tim Sheridan with 16.15 percent of the votes.

Melissa Melendez is running unopposed to retain her seat in the 67th Assembly District.
