MSJC Students to Participate in Recycled Art & Fashion Show

Mt. San Jacinto College art students will participate for the third year in the Recycled Art & Fashion Show this Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at Monte De Oro Winery and Vineyards, 35820 Rancho California Road in Temecula.

More than 20 students will be involved in this year's event as designers, artists, models and collaborators. Awards are given in the following categories: Innovation, Meaningful Message and Original Design and Craftsmanship. Last year, MSJC students received two of these awards. The third was won by April Estoch, MSJC alumna and Art teacher in the Menifee Union School District.

Partial proceeds from the 2014 event will benefit the Art Program at MSJC. As a result of last year's event, the MSJC Art Department received a total of $500.

The following MSJC faculty have participated in this event (2012, 2013 and 2014): Willie Hamilton, Political Sciences, as speaker; Shezwae Powell, Theatre, as judge; Peter Mitten, Art, will participate for a third year as organizer of the Art exhibition at the event; Eileen Doktorski, Art, facilitator, designer and speaker; Mick Gronick, Art, as judge; Jane Wilder, Theatre, as judge; and Stacey Wexler, Art, as judge.

The following MSJC staff have participated in this event (2012, 2013 & 2014): Cinda Adams, Ceramic Arts Aide, as designer/model, and Joe Posadas, Art Gallery, as designer/model.
