Man Arrested Following Knife Attack in Lake Elsinore

A Lake Elsinore man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and battery after a weekend incident involving a knife attack, police said today.

Johnathan Schmidt, 29, was detained by Lake Elsinore Police Sunday after the green Ford Explorer he was driving was identified as the vehicle that left the scene of an alleged assault in the 31000 block of Riverside Drive. Schmidt was found in possession of a knife, and it was determined that Schmidt had attacked several people at the establishment.
