Man Arrested in Lake Elsinore With Stolen Mail Truck

A Trabuco Canyon man was arrested for vehicle theft early this morning after being found in possession of a stolen U.S. Postal Service vehicle.

According to Lake Elsinore Police, an officer was on patrol in the area of Oriole Court and Linnet Drive about 3 a.m. today. The officer saw a marked mail vehicle driving through the neighborhood. Due to the time, the officer conducted an investigative enforcement stop and questioned the non-uniformed driver.

The investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen early in the evening (March 12) from a postal facility in Murrieta. Shawn Beverly, 43, was arrested for vehicle theft and booked into jail at the Southwest Detention Center.
