Hemet Woman Arrested for Robbery of Menifee Kohl's Store

A Hemet woman was arrested Saturday and booked for robbery following a shoplifting incident at the Kohl's Department store in Countryside Marketplace in the 30000 block of Haun Road in Menifee.

At 5:12 p.m., deputies from the Menifee Police Department responded to the report of a robbery. According to the police report, a caucasian female suspect shoplifted items from inside of the store and assaulted loss prevention officers in order to get away. The suspect fled in a white Hyundai Veloster prior to deputies arriving on scene.

A query of the suspect’s license plate number led deputies to the 27000 block of Rosemont Way in Hemet. A Hemet Sheriff's officer stopped the Hyundai Veloster in the 41000 block of Stonecliff Way, where the female driver of the Hyundai Veloster was detained and was positively identified as Cristian Natalie Valencia, 23.

The stolen property was recovered from inside of the vehicle. Valencia was booked at the Southwest Jail.
