Cub Scout Pack 444 of Menifee took part in an outreach program today by distributing food and clothing to the needy in downtown San Diego.

The event took place at the City of Refuge, near Market and 24th Streets. Items were donated by member families of Pack 444, Calvary Chapel Christian School and other members of the Menifee community.

There was 12 bags of clothes (about 250 articles of clothing) distributed. The Scouts also distributed about five full pallets of food to approximately 200 needy and/or homeless people, many of them families with children in the area.

Food items distributed included milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, bread and pastries ... wholesome food that normally is absent in the diet of the homeless and needy.
