Winners in School Pride Essay Contest to be Notified Tonight

Thanks to all those who entered the Menifee 24/7 "Proud of My High School" contest for Heritage and Paloma Valley high schools. We received nearly 400 entries -- primarily from students at the two schools -- and are judging the essays today. One winner representing each high school will be selected and notified by phone tonight.

Winners must be present at the Heritage-Paloma Valley football game Friday night to accept their prize of a $50 VISA gift card. Photos of the winners accepting their prize on the field at halftime will be taken.

Even if you are not notified tonight that you're a winner, we thank all those who entered the contest and hope to see you at the game Friday at 7 p.m. at Paloma Valley High School. The winners' essays and photos will be published on Menifee 24/7 Saturday morning. We will also publish several of the other outstanding essays next week.

Thanks again to all who entered. You represented your schools well. And we'll see you at the game!
