Evacuation orders have been lifted for the communities of Snow Creek, Cabazon, Mt. Edna and Poppet Flats and residents are turning to their homes in the area south of Banning and near Idylwild where the Silver Fire has scorched 19,000 acres.

Riverside County Fire officials reported today that the fire is 47 percent contained. At least seven injuries have been reported, including six firefighters.

Access passes are required for those returning to their homes. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, passes are no longer being issued at the Hemet High School shelter, which is closing down. Access passes will be issued only at Highway 243 and Poppet Flats Road.

The Falls Fire, which burned 1,393 acres west of Lake Elsinore, is now 100 percent contained.
