Mexican Quesadilla and bottomless mimosas.
In observance of both the Latin American and American Mother’s Day holidays, Provecho Grill will celebrate Mother’s Day twice this week.

Latin American Mother’s Day takes place every year on the same day, May 10. This Friday is set to kick off the weekend festivities with dinner specials and live entertainment.

“As a Mexican-American child, growing up, we always respected both cultures and holidays,” says owner and executive chef Rosie O’Connor.

She wants to carry out this tradition by respecting both days with unique celebrations at Provecho Grill. There are two different ways of celebrating, but the reason for both days is the same, which is to honor mothers.

For Latin American Mother’s Day, traditionally the family will take their mother out to dinner and bring a mariachi band to play for her. So of course Provecho will do the same, with a live mariachi band and dinner specials on Friday night. Entertainment will go from 6-9 p.m. and reservations are recommended. Highlighted menu options include ancho chili barbecue pork chops, lobster tail, and the mariachi special of homemade mole with chicken enchiladas and shrimp wrapped in apple wood smoked bacon and stuffed with pepper jack cheese.

Huevos Motulenos brunch entree from the region of Motul, Yucatan.

Sunday will commemorate traditional American Mother’s Day with a customary brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This special brunch is set to include a buffet taco bar, a selection of your choice of entrees, fresh fruit, Mexican pastries, and bottomless champagne all for just $18.95 for adults and $10.95 for children. Special brunch entrees set for the menu include Crab cake Benedicto, Huevos Motulenos, and the Mexican quesadilla.

Provecho’s own version of eggs benedict, the crab cake benedicto, features a special hollandaise sauce with a Mexican twist over luscious crab cakes. The huevos motulenos comes from the region of Motul, Yucatan and features fresh over-easy eggs topped with bacon, peas, tomatoes, queso fresco and plantains over black beans and tortilla. The Mexican quesadilla melts together queso enchilado, chorizo, caramelized onions, pasilla peppers, tomatos, and scrambled eggs between two tortillas and finished with a topping of sour cream, pico de gallo, and Mexican cheese. Yum!

Reservations are recommended for both celebrations. Provecho!
