One man died and three others were transported to local hospitals with injuries in two separate traffic accidents Friday in the Menifee area.
Ronald Owens, 55, of Sun City died at Loma Linda Medical Center Friday afternoon from injuries received in a two-car collision at the intersection of Scott Road and Winchester Road about 11:20 a.m. According to the Riverside County Coroner's Office, Owens was trapped in a large-size sedan that collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the truck was taken away by ambulance with what was described as minor injuries.
About five hours later, at Menifee Road and Watson Road in the northeast section of Menifee, two people were hospitalized with moderate injuries after being involved in a two-car collision. Both were trapped briefly in their vehicles.
