VFW Post 1956 will honor Sgt. Timothy Elwell of the Riverside Sheriff's Office at the start of its meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the offices of Sun City Concern, 26842 Cherry Hills Blvd. in Menifee.
Sgt. Elwell will be honored for his outstanding law enforcement career and his selection to represent VFW Post 1956 with the VFW District 23 National Gold Medal.
Menifee’s new mayor, Scott Mann, will be present for a few words on this occasion. He will be joined by another city council member and a senior member of the Sheriff’s Office.
After this event during the first 15 minutes, the meeting will be closed to the public.
