LDS Church Accepting Donations Saturday for Storm Victims

Families on the east coast are trying to survive the cold, living in the second story of homes that have been flooded by the super-storm Sandy. Menifee residents have an opportunity to help, but need to do so quickly.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will open its doors Saturday from 8-10 a.m. to accept donations of clean, gently used (or new) blankets, coats, jackets, sweaters and children's clothing to be donated to people in need in the New York and New Jersey areas. These supplies will be rushed to the church's distribution center in Emerson, N.J., will they will be given to those who need them most.

The church building is located at 29725 Bradley Road in Menifee, one block north of Newport Road. Menifee residents are urged to participate in this urgent effort of love and compassion.
