The Menifee City Council Tuesday night will consider a contribution to help fund a survey of Quail Valley residents designed to address problems with water usage in the hillside community.

The council will consider a $5,000 contribution to Eastern Municipal Water District for an income survey of residents there. Anonymous responses to the survey will help determine whether Quail Valley's average income could qualify it as a "disadvantaged community," making it easier to get state and federal funding for sewer construction.

City council member Tom Fuhrman, who represents Quail Valley in District 4, has spoken often of the need to assist residents there. Leakage and overflow from old septic tanks often creates sewage runoffs and potential health problems in the area.

The City Council will meet in closed session on another item at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 29714 Haun Road.
