Two Menifee Girls Softball Teams Will Play in State Tournament This Weekend

Members of the Menifee 12-and-under team pose with their district championship award.

Two girls all-star teams from Menifee recently won district tournaments in the Southern California Amateur Softball Association and have qualified for the state tournament this weekend, July 6-8, at Lancaster City Park.

This is the first time any Menifee ASA team has won the district tournament, let alone two teams.

The Menifee 12-and-under team will open the tournament Friday at 8 a.m. vs. San Pedro on field No. 8. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Murietta-West Grove game Friday at 4 p.m. on field No. 4. The double elimination tournament concludes with the championship game Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

The Menifee 14-and-under team will begin tournament play Friday at 1:15 p.m. against Scripps Ranch on field No. 6. If Menifee wins, it will play the winner of the Corona-Seaside game Saturday at 8 a.m. on field No. 7. That double elimination tournament concludes with the championship game, also Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

Games will be played at the Lancaster Big 8 complex, located at 43011 N. 10th St. in Lancaster. Information on the tournaments can be found on the Southern California ASA website.
