James, a Menifee 24/7 reader, sent us an e-mail this afternoon claiming to have felt an earthquake at his home om Country Gardens.

I checked the USGS Earthquake website and sure enough, a maginitude 4.7 earthquake struck today at 10:29am, centered 9.1 miles WNW of Lake Elsinore...

I was at home at this time, but I didn't feel a thing.

  • I felt the quake. It gave a pretty good jolt, but it didn't last very long.

  • I wasn't home, but my husband said he felt it quite strongly, he thought there had been an explosion of some sort..no damage that we can see.

  • You gotta love native Californians. Anyhing under a 5 or 6 and it's no big. I was cooking breakfast for my kids and I stopped and thought someone was blasting, then thought "hey it's Sunday" then went on my business. No big deal it's under a 5!
